![]() ![]() Dragon Age used a model I like to call the single player MMO to build its massive world, a model that I’ve seen before and am rather fond of. ![]() It’s been almost a year since Dragon Age: Inquisition came out, a game which I spent 110 hours on, and it’s been about half a year since The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt released, a game I’ve placed almost 135 hours into and my attitude about these two games could not be more different. Despite this, the question does have an idea behind it that is worth discussing, the question of how you create that much content in a video game while keeping it engaging. This is perfectly acceptable when deciding whether or not you should personally buy a game, however it is not an acceptable way to subjectively judge a video game. This question is a symptom of a disease in gaming culture, a disease where people look at how they personally enjoy gaming and judge a game based off of that criteria. There has been a lot of talk within the last year about how long RPGs are getting and many people are wondering if games are getting too long.
